RE-2400DVBT2 – automatic or manual service scan?

A major plus of the RE-2400DVBT2 receiver is – power it up, and you’ll get the Installation menu in only 2 seconds!
You only need to click the ‘Service Search’, and …. that’s it.
In a minute you will have Live TV.

You just made use of the default – Automatic Service – Search option.
In most cases this works succesfully.

But …
The new KPN T2, Terrestrial network, is delivered by several transmission towers throughout the Netherlands.
And there are differences between all these locations/areas/towers/.
So positioning the antenna can be more easy on one location than the other.
During writing this, location Zeeland still is a bit more difficult.
But, for the very powerfull Yaginx+ outdoor antenna, also Zeeland is ‘easy-peasy’.
Customers are telling us they have 100% reception/quality.

Generally, the best signal reception/quality will be get when positioning an antenna vertically.
Be sure about the transmission tower location you want to use, and align the antenna accordingly.
Adjusting the position – a bit to the left/right, a bit twisting etc – can make a big difference.

The blue LED on our Funke indoor/outdoor antenna’s should be on, when connected on our ‘2400’ DVB-T2 FTA unit, because it gives 5V output to the active Funke antenna’s by default, just via the antenna cable.

Will you still not succeed in scanning services automatically, please than do the following:

Press your RCU’s Menu button and select the Service Search menu => choose Manual Search, and press OK.
Make sure that the following will be used:

  • Frequency (KHz) – fill in the frequency for your area. You can find it in the list below.
Example Haarlem: in the list is mentioned 578 MHz, so use 578000 (KHz) in the menu/field.
  • Bandwidth – use – 8M

You see 2 bars in the bottom of the screen, for Signal Intensity and Quality.
The higher the percentage, the better it is.
Adjust your antenna positioning, for getting the best result.

Still not successful?
Hmmm …..

  • take a deep breath, take some coffee, and try again
  • or you have to consider the range between your antenna and the transmission tower. Maybe it’s too far for your antenna?
  • maybe you can use another tower, more close by?
  • maybe you use an in-house, indoor antenna, and your windows are triple-glassed for isolation purposes, and it’s too difficult for your antenna to pickup some signal?
